    Time management and goal setting are two skills you need to achieve the best possible results you can for your efforts. Evaluate your schedule, and personal and professional goals so you are prepared for the future.

  • College Writing and Research

    You will learn the basics of APA formatting, how to choose and research a topic for a paper, and how to complete a basic college essay. Sentence, paragraph, and outline building skills will be covered.

  • Discussion Boards

    Learn how to navigate a college level discussion board, and how to craft quality original posts and responses for success in your future classroom.

  • Reading Rubrics

    What is a grading rubric, and how can you use it to score the highest possible grade for your assignments? We will break down how to read a rubric, and how to work through your assignments to best meet instructors’ criteria.

  • Effective Outlines

    Learn how to craft an outline that almost writes your paper for you! Learn how to leverage your pre-work to flow into your final draft.

  • Annotated Bibliographies

    Build an Annotated Bibliography that helps you in writing your paper. Use this prework to analyse sources so you can quickly figure out what ones work best for your paper.

  • Selecting a Research Topic

    Learn tips on narrowing down a topic when you need to make a choice on what to write your paper about. Utilize search engines effectively to get the information you need.

  • APA Formatting

    Learn the basics of citing your sources, and how to properly use in-text citations. Understand when citations are needed and make sure you have correct full citations for your References page.

  • Plagiarism - what it is and how to avoid it

    Use paraphrasing properly, and learn to identify the different types of plagiarism. This information will help you to steer clear of any challenges to your work.

  • FIle formats and requirements

    Learn how to save and organize your files. Understand the basic formats that will be expected for assignment turn-ins, and use common computer software to take effective notes.

  • Proofreading and Drafts

    Learn how to proofread and improve your work from rough draft to final turn-in. Critically analyze your work for clarity, content, and proper formatting to ensure you turn in a polished final product.

What if I get stuck and need help, who do I ask, and how do I reach them?

I am here to answer your questions through the course contact options, through direct email, and also to meet with you virtually. Never hesitate to reach out, I am here to help, and I want to see you succeed!

What happens after I complete the course?

You will receive a certificate of completion when you complete the course. You will also be sent a digital portfolio of your submitted work to save for future reference. You are also welcome (and encouraged!) to download and save any of the course resources you find helpful as you work through the course.

How long do I have access to the course?

You have 6 months from your start date to access the course materials. When you complete the course, you will be sent a digital portfolio of your submitted work to save for future reference.

How do I access the course?

Once you are enrolled, you will receive a link to create a login and password to access the course, which is facilitated through the Canvas Learning Management System.

Do I have to complete the course in 15 weeks?

No, but you should go through the materials in order, without any long pauses. Some of the assignments build off each other, so it is best to not take long breaks in between modules.

Do you tutor in specific areas? What if I need assistance in the future?

Yes! I do offer hourly appointments as well as packages of multiple appointments for students who are looking for additional help after class ends.
